ARI 2023 All-Sites Summit: Building Equity, Access and Impact

Summits

Published: June 1, 2023

The 2023 Adult Redeploy Illinois All-Sites Summit: Building Equity, Access and Impact was held in Bloomington, Illinois, on May 22-23, 2023. Hosted by Adult Redeploy Illinois (ARI) and the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority, the Summit brought together over 120 participants from across the statewide ARI network for the first time since COVID-19. Summit participants included ARI site representatives, judges, state's attorneys, public defenders, mental health treatment professionals, and other community partners. The event focused on learning from the wisdom in the room and working together to build equity, access, and impact across the ARI network. The highlight of the event was a panel conversation from six incredible and inspiring Vital Voices participants (ARI alumni) who shared what they learned throughout their journey in their ARI program. Vital Voices spoke directly to their relationship with supervising officers and their pathway through ARI, giving valuable insight to site representatives in the audience. Vital Voices panelists received positive feedback, appreciation, and gratitude from event participants, who called the presentation "uplifting", "powerful", and "impactful". We continue to be awed by our Vital Voices participants and look forward to hearing from each of our panelists in the future on their continued success. Other highlights included interactive site reports; a presentation on qualitative ARI research using the success stories of Vital Voices and supervising probation officers; and presentations from representatives of the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts on their justice work in equity, behavioral health, and data management.
