MEMBER OF ADULT REDEPLOY ILLINOIS OVERSIGHT BOARD, MICHAEL TORCHIA, ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT

Adult Redeploy Illinois (ARI) applauds the work and expresses gratitude for the many contributions of Michael Torchia, one of the first members of the ARI Oversight Board and Director of Probation and Court Services for Sangamon County. Mr. Torchia will retire at the end of April 2022 after 36 years of service to the 7th Judicial Circuit and Sangamon County.
Mr. Torchia has been an integral part of the ARI program since its inception in 2010, as a member of the ARI Oversight Board and serving on the Site Selection and Monitoring Committee establishing and expanding the statewide network, and the Strategic Planning Advisory Committee charting a course for the program for 2020-2022. Mr. Torchia has been the program director of the Sangamon County ARI program which coordinates interventions across all of Sangamon County’s problem-solving courts (drug, mental health, and veterans treatment). These programs provide crucial life-changing services to justice-involved clients, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, substance use disorder treatment, medication-assisted recovery, employment supports, and trauma-informed care.
Mr. Torchia has consistently been a strong advocate for ARI sites and those they serve. Although Mr. Torchia will be missed, his legacy will live on and continue to impact the lives of ARI participants throughout Sangamon County and the State of Illinois.
