DescriptionThis dashboard visualizes Illinois juvenile justice data from the years 2017 to 2022. This dashboard will be updated with 2023 and 2024 data upon availability of all data sources. In this dashboard, “juvenile” or “youth” refers to an individual under the age of 18. Users can filter the dashboard by five different juvenile justice system points—arrest, detention, informal probation, transfer to adult court, and confinement. Annual trends by data point are available in the dashboard, as well as a breakdown by county type (rural vs. urban). Arrest information is protected per our data sharing agreement with the Illinois State Police. Specific modifications have been made to arrest data.
