ICJIA Budget Actions Taken December 19, 2024

On December 19, 2024, the ICJIA Budget Committee approved one future funding opportunity for $16.3 million and awarded $9.2 million in grants to agencies and organizations across Illinois.

Notice of Funding Opportunity

The Budget Committee set aside:

  • $16.3 million in SFY26 Community Based Violence Intervention and Prevention funds for local organizations to support violence prevention activities, long-term or ongoing trauma-informed services, and community engagement.

Grant awards

The Budget Committee designated:

  • $2.6 million in FFY21 Justice Assistance Grants to 15 multijurisdictional violent crime enforcement programs and five violent crime prosecution programs.
  • $530,000 in FFY22 Improving Reentry Education and Employment Outcomes Program funding to Adler University to continue its Access to Higher Education in Prisons Program.
  • $6.1 million in FFY23 Victim of Crime Act funds to support 15 agencies providing services for underserved victims of crime.
