Upcoming Training in Kankakee, IL
From the Harbor House, two free informational sessions by the Training Institute For Strangulation Prevention. The Institute provides the most current and up-to-date curriculum on strangulation crimes specifically designed for police, prosecutors, medical professionals, dispatchers, and advocates handling domestic violence and sexual assault cases.
Led by experienced and knowledgeable instructors, this workshop promises to provide valuable insights and practical skills that can be applied directly to your respective roles.
Key objectives include:
- Increasing understanding of why strangulation and suffocation offenses must be treated seriously and given our top priority
- Improving system response to the handling of non-fatal strangulation through multi-disciplinary teams
- Increasing understanding of the signs and symptoms of strangulation; and of internal injuries, delayed death and long-term consequences
- Increasing awareness about current research, laws, best practices and resources
