December Clove Connection: The Power of Your Support
At Clove Alliance, we are always grateful for the outpouring of community support we get on Giving Tuesday. Over the past fiscal year, it helped us serve 983 survivors and their loved ones. We also reached 11,509 students with sexual violence prevention programs and 58,692 people through training and outreach initiatives.
When community members like you choose to support Clove Alliance, whether by donating, volunteering, or attending events, you're making our work reach further and fanning the flames of hope. Your involvement shows a commitment to survivors' healing and illuminates a shared vision of ending sexual violence.

In the Community
Our Training & Education Specialist, Bridget, had the opportunity to visit Ms. Maple's class at Watseka Elementary School. During the visit, they read Teach Your Dragon Online Safety by Steve Herman and created their own internet safety badges!
Staff Enrichment
The Clove Alliance Culture Club hosted a Lunch & Learn presentation featuring Emily LaVoie, a certified Eating Psychology Coach and Vice Chair of Clove Alliance's Board of Directors. Emily provided valuable insights into the impact of eating disorders and diet culture. Events like this offer opportunities to gain knowledge and resources to support clients and loved ones.
Over the summer months, Whitney Mittons of Coordinated Consulting recommended that the staff read Dare to Lead by Brené Brown, a book that highlights leadership principles such as courage, empathy, and vulnerability. Advocate Kayla Love took the initiative to organize and facilitate a meaningful book discussion for our team.
Whitney Mittons returned to lead an in-depth session on psychological safety in the workplace. At Clove Alliance, we are committed to fostering a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and belonging. We look forward to continuing these important conversations in 2025.
A Call to Men
Our volunteer, Tim, attended the 'A Call To Men' organization's Men's Breakfast Celebration at Soldier Field. He joined other men from ICASA centers. They learned about their mission and impact: Healthy, respectful manhood means valuing and respecting women, girls, LGBQ, Trans, and nonbinary people—and respecting and valuing oneself by striving to live authentically.
