Death Penalty Abolition Fund Services to Assist Chicago Families

The Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority is requesting proposals for the Services to Assist Chicago Families Program. A total of $1,750,000 in Death Penalty Abolition (DPA) funds are available through this solicitation for use over a period of up to 36 months.

Eligibility Information

Agencies must be registered through the Grant Accountability and Transparency Act (GATA) Grantee Portal, https://grants.illinois.gov/portal/, to become eligible to apply for an award. Applicants must be in good standing with all GATA pre-qualification requirements and received approval of the Internal Control Questionnaire (ICQ) SFY22, and Programmatic Risk Assessment, before the execution of the grant agreement.

Eligible Applicants

Eligible applicants include public agencies and nonprofit organizations located within the City of Chicago. Services must be provided within the City of Chicago. Applicants must have existing established referral relationships with Chicago Police Department (CPD). Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) between the application organization and CPD will be required. Applicants must be pre-qualified to do business with the State of Illinois (pg. 9, NOFO 2162-2012).

Deadline

Completed application materials must be completed in AmpliFund by 5:00 P.M., January 7, 2022, to be considered for funding. Proposals will not be accepted by email, mail, fax, or in-person. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. Late submissions will not be reviewed.

Available Funds

Grants will be made with SFY22 Death Penalty Abolition Funds. A minimum of $175,000 and a maximum of $350,000 will be made available through this funding opportunity.

Period of Performance

Grant awards resulting from this opportunity will have a target period of performance of April 1, 2022, to June 30, 2022 (3 months). Additional funding may be available to support the program for up to an additional 33 months, contingent upon a satisfactory performance and availability of funds. Total funding for the grant program will not exceed 36 months.
